Research Initiatives
CREED: Center for the Restoration of Economic Data
CREED is an initiative to make unstructured economic data more accessible through automated data extraction methods. We develop and share tools, methods, and best practices for digitizing historical records, maps, and other non-standard data sources.
Philadelphia Federal Statistical Research Data Center
I serve as co-executive director of the Philadelphia Fed's Statistical Research Data Center, which provides secure access to confidential microdata from the U.S. Census Bureau and other federal statistical agencies for qualified researchers.
Conferences
Conference on Urban and Regional Economics (CURE)
CURE is an annual conference that takes place in Europe and North America in alternating years. The goal of the conference is to provide extensive discussion of new and innovative research in urban and regional economics. Previous editions have convened 40 or more participants to present, discuss, and participate in the workshop. In recent years, the conference has been held in Philadelphia in even-numbered years, hosted by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.

New Work Data and Code
Data and code for analyzing new occupation titles ("new work") in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles (1964, 1977, 1991) and US Census (1980, 1990, 2000).

Historical Census Tract Crosswalk
Data and code for "normalizing" historical census data to 2010 census tract boundaries. This allows researchers to track neighborhoods consistently over time.
